Explosive Church Planting: Part 4 of 4

by | Jan 10, 2012 | Church Leadership, Church Planting

C4 is a famous plastic explosive that is small, moldable & extremely stable.  But, throwing it against something, heating it with a flame or shooting it with a firearm cannot detonate it.

It must be set off with a detonation device.

Church Planting is a famous Kingdom Explosive that is small, moldable and extremely stable – it’s been with us for over 2000 years!

But, it to must be detonated and there are 4 components, combined together, that will set off explosive church planting:

  1. Call
  2. Community
  3. Conflict
  4. Conquest

In the end, I mean the literal end; the end of all things, the end of time and space, the end of sin and suffering, the end of internal and external conflict, the end of life as we know it.  In that end I want to be once and for all complete and in the presence of our Creator, shamelessly playing in the Father’s presence for eternity.  Candidly, I have no idea what that is really going to be like, but I have had glimpses and longings.  Until then, we journey on following Jesus wherever He leads us.

There is an underlying reality that fuels church planting and provides comfort, hope and perseverance in the conflict.

Jesus did say, “I will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it”.

Bottom line, we win.

Revelation 19 is powerful apocalyptic scripture that captures two undeniable truths – Jesus will come back and Jesus will rule as the King of Kings and Lord of Lords and every church planter who has followed Him into the battle will win as well.

A call that is lived out in community and conflict will experience conquest and participate in explosive church planting.  This is what the church has experienced since it’s inception and what it will experience until the King returns.
