Make Disciples, Let Jesus Build the Church

Christ comes first. He than commands us into His mission. The byproduct of our mission is His kingdom spread on earth via the building of His church. As much as I value church planting, I have come to realize that we should stop planting churches. We should plant Jesus, and let Jesus build His church.

Breaking the 200 Barrier

A church plant is a lot like a boulder on a barren mountainside. You’ve seen this same rock in many adventure movies. Perhaps you’ve seen two nondescript cowboys desperately prying it loose, and then watching it fall. It quickly picks up speed, knocking other smaller rocks loose. Rocks smash against other rocks, breaking them from [...]

Things I Wish I Knew Before I Started Planting: Evangelists bring faith

I’m glad I was influenced by several evangelists early on in my Christian life. These people did something profound – they modeled the normal Christian life as they saw it. To them sharing Christ all the time was natural, doable and attainable. Evangelism flowed from them. As a new Believer I didn’t know any better than [...]
